Some stats are incorrect

I'm noticing that some of the stats on the site are incorrect.  An example is the saves leaderboard.  The D1 site has three pitchers with 5 saves, when in reality, there were 20 pitchers as of yesterday with 5 or more saves, and the leader has 8 saves (he got his 6th save on March 8th and his 8th save on March 15th, so it isn't a timing issue).  There are also some issues with batting averages that I noticed as well.  I think what may be happening is that as games finish, box scores are posted and the stats service that feeds this site picks them up quickly.  Then if a school goes back in the next few hours or the next morning and assigns a save or a sac bunt or sac fly that was missed in the initial publication, it gets updated on the NCAA stats site, but doesn't get picked up by the database that feeds this site.

To qualify for pitching leaderboards, the requirement is at least 1 IP per team games played. Conversely, to qualify for batting leaderboards, the requirement is at least 2 PA per game played and at least 75% of team games played. These are the same constraints leveraged on all team stat pages that leverage SIDEARM.

For the National Leader in Saves, almost certainly a reliever, they typically struggle to qualify for the National Pitching Leaderboards because of this. In this case, Charlie Beilenson ( https://d1baseball.com/player/1tyosue7/charlie-beilenson/) has 20 IP on the season, which falls under this threshold (Duke has played 24 games). If you go to the D1 Team Stats page for Duke, you'll see that his 8 saves are denoted there (and confirm he is the National Leader).

@643dev Thank you for your response.  So the problem is not as widespread as I thought.  I am a Louisiana Tech fan, and I first noticed this with do-everything utility man, Ethan Bates.  He has 7 saves on the year, but his player page here shows him with 5.  His batting average is also incorrect (.358 here vs .364 on the NCAA site).

Other examples for Louisiana Tech where the hitting stats don't match between NCAA and here...

Dalton Davis, Kasten Furr, Michael Ballard, Adarius Myers, Karson Evans to name a few.

I still believe my theory to be true on the cause, because as fans, we have noticed problems with box scores directly following the games that are corrected later, and some of those problems were with crediting Bates with a save.

I see that many of the discrepancies have been corrected, but I still don't think the underlying cause has been fixed.

For Louisiana Tech:

Dalton Davis has 28 RBI, not 29; corrected box score

Caden Copeland's ERA is 5.95, not 6.41 (you have assigned him an extra earned run); corrected box score

Ethan Bates is 0-0, not 0-1.

Sam Broderson is 2-1, not 2-0; an early box score gave Bates the loss incorrectly and it was corrected by the next day.

Hayden Harmon has given up 2 ER, not 0 ER; corrected box score

I looked at LSU since they would probably be more important to national writers, but they only had a couple of teensy issues, but they probably have professional scorekeepers that make far less mistakes.

Paxton Kling and Steven Milam both have one more at bat in the stats here compared to the official NCAA stats; probably a correction on a sacrifice.

Griffin Herring has not hit a batter and this site shows 1 hit batter; probably also a correction.
