@jdh008 are you not entertained!! Hagen Smith starts and the WooHawgs lose!! I think I asked last Saturday if he'd have 20 Ks and he only had 14, but #WPS got to 20 in 11 innings.
How great was the pitching in this game. 33Ks and only 3 walks. ...one of those walks came around to score, the other Aggie walk gets the RBI in the 11th for the only run of the game.
That is post-season baseball in the regular season right there. Electric atmosphere on a wet, nasty day.
Should be a very interesting final two days. Not sure I can watch Waypoints live tomorrow so be nice to my Aggies. I'll be too busy cooking bacon.
Rewatching the highlights this morning. Geez the quality of the pitchers in this game. Arkansas not pitching a single guy with an ERA above 2.06, and most under 1.5. Ryan Prager matching Hagen almost pitch for pitch with 7 shutout innings. Great catches in the outfield by the Aggies time and again.
The Aggie bats continue to struggle but hard to tell if that's just Hagen being Hagen. Laviolette had a couple of nice swings and Grahovacs at bats got better as the game went along. The bottom end of the lineup actually looked a little better than the top. WooPig hit a couple of balls that would have left the yard on a normal night without the heavy North wind.
Should be a fun remainder of the series.
Yep, it was definitely a fun series. Two very good teams. Aggies seemed to find the bats a little, and did so against the best staff in the country. I have real sympathy for whomever faces Arkie in the first game at Omaha. I would not want to hit against Smith in that cavern.
